I'm not sure what Rafael wanted to convey in this painting but I always saw it as somewhat spiritual.
Rafael loved to paint and he loved to get other people interested in painting.
Vacations were but dreams for Rafael rarely left his home.
I adored this picture when Rafael emailed it. I told him I thought the house looked "Alive" and "Happy". It was hard to believe the cirumstances of his death when he seemed so happy himself and looking foward to Art Gallery Showings and being surrounded by so many loving friends.
It was hard to choose where I should put this painting as it showed Rafael's beloved Mountains but also was a great Standard Water Color Scene.
This was one of the last paintings that Rafael sent. It looked so promising and hopeful as though Rafael was thinking of Vacations and far away sunny places but it was not to be.
