Arthritis and an on the job injury left left Artist Linda M.
Michael - Lo with limited use of her hands. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and Arthritis
did not stop the Artistic Desire deep within. When Linda visited West Africa
in 1997 she drew upon her experiences to create these beautiful Original Textile
Wall Hangings.
Each piece of Cotton Fabric is permanently designed with 5,000
strokes of an Ink Pen. It takes at least 8 to 10 hours to create each
Masterpiece. When finished, the Artwork is framed with Black Metal. Due to
the pain of this type of Disability, the Artist may limit Production to around 5
per month. The West Africa series is shown below but plans for future Art
Pieces may include Scenes from Visits to other Foreign Lands.
Linda Michael - Lo was awarded prime time coverage on Channel 8, 1/13/2004
(4mins). VSA Arts of Washington, D.C. selected Linda to exhibit her artwork at
the prestigious J.F.K Center for Performing Arts 6/9-13/2004.
