Kriss  exhibited at the OK Hotel in downtown Seattle

and though it was a quiet rainy evening she and her family quickly drew lots of admirers of both her Art and the delectable treats she brought to share for the event. 

Kriss is an avid gourmet chocolatier and though she hasn't sold any of her treats as of yet, if she did "Godiva Chocolates" would be jealous because they don't have what Kriss has.  Her "White Lavender Truffles"  contain real Lavender grown in her own garden and you wouldn't think Lavender would taste good but OMG, it's to die for.  Her "Brazillian Chocolate Truffles" won a prize in a "Good Housekeeping Contest" and well you'd have to just taste the "Hot Truffle Chocolates" because the peppery taste will surprise your taste buds and have you begging for more but don't ask for the secret recipe because this one is going to be entered in a new contest.  Now that you've had an introduction to Kriss's gourmet ability's keep coming back for news on her latest books.  Kriss's  "Cheesecake Cookbook" is out of print and no longer available but these kinds of prize winning treats won't be out of print forever.

Sometimes life can be incredibly cruel to people who really should be treated well.  Especially children.  Despite growing up in an abusive home,  Kriss overcame the past filled with neglect and abuse to become a very successful person in her own right and married a kind and supportive husband as well. 

A recent diagnosis of Asperger's explains some things that were before unexplainable.  When a person lives with Asperger's it is easy to become overwhelmed in social settings or environments of too much stimulus.  Communicating in a gentle, calm, focused way is something all of us can benefit from by learning to do.  

One of Kriss's best talents is her writing.  You only have to read one paragraph and you won't be able to stop  for you can see and feel everything as though you were living the story yourself. 

Adding to her portfolio of talents,  Kriss  creates these friendly warm birds and other creatures from nature to give joy to those who own them.  Each one is carefully hand attached to cardstock and is signed by the Artist.  (See below and click on pictures for detail).

For those who enjoy singing, Kriss will be singing at the "South Everett Community Center" December 2005  and at "Top Foods"  "Songs of the Heart Celebration" so don't miss out.

Overall, Mrs. Erickson is  a courageous soul who works as a  Spiritual Director in addition to bringing Joy in to our lives with her beautiful Art, Singing and heartfelt writing.

I make colored pencil cards of birds, insects, flowers and other animals, humorous watercolor cards, acrylic paintings (mostly abstract/representational abstract), and whimsical acrylic painted signs; i.e. snowmen for Christmas, bunnies for Easter.  I also make willow arches from the trees growing in the wetland on my property.

I've been a freelance writer for over 20 years and have sold over 300 articles and stories, as well as a cookbook

I can work up several acrylic abstracts in a day, and can supply those on demand.  I like to work with motion or stillness--either extreme.  Obviously, any originals I sell are one-time-only.  Any art that I can scan and make into cards can be sold on demand.
