"Grandma McClure at home in Tennessee"
Grandma McClure is a self taught Artist since the 1930.s
when she was a teenager. Malinda spent 16 years on a quilt that has
every bird and every state flower of all 50 united states. Each name is
hand embroidered below each quilted image. This beautiful quilt was
started at age 67 years and finished at age 83 years. When she finished
it, she gifted it to the McMinn County Museum in Athens Tennessee where it
is now part of their "Permanent Collection".
Grandma McClure is one of the few people left who know
how to make corn husk dolls. One of Malinda's " Wood Veneer "Artworks was
featured in a newspaper some time ago but a heart attack and complications
from it caused some memory loss as to the exact date and paper.
Nevertheless, Grandma McClure is a Tennessee Sweetie who upon learning
about the
www.DisabledArtistsNetwork.net exhibit, sale and Xmas Party decided to
donate two of her artworks for the benefit of Ukraine's Homeless Children
managed by the "Our Ray" organization.
Please view the beautiful work of Malinda McClure below.
