"Artist and Teacher Anita Swan"

Anita Swan has been teaching art in public schools for 13 years and creating art for 27.

Not only does she teach but she has a very successful art career as well.  Part of the reason for being backed up is due to the conditions that MS has posed upon the artist.

Please don't make any requests for art at this time.  What Anita is interested in is to get in touch with other artists with disability's.

Teaching is the thing that Nita misses the most and having Multiple Sclerosis has taken away that ability for the most part except for a small select group of students for private art lessons.

However Nita has a very talented Niece who works under her direction  helping Anita create some works of art.

This is a entire new world where those who have had successful and meaningful careers continue on even when disability challenges them and Nita has a lot to share in terms of coping and adaptive strategies so if you would like to join her group please email her at

Update as of March 27,2007

Anita has found a wonderful Assistive Technology that allows her to communicate and get back to what she loves doing despite the challenges that MS has placed on her hands. That Assistive Technology Program can be found at

http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking /

and Anita states the program is a lifesaver!

Anita would like to sell  Giclee' Prints, Note cards and Calendars of her work in the not so distant future.  You can see some new work posted on this site:
