I attended art school from 1988-1996 called "NATIONAL CENTER Of AESTHETICS, FINE ART AND DECORATIVE APPLIED ART STUDIO-COLLEGE" in Armenia. Then I attended the "CULTURAL CENTER OF TERYAN" in Yerevan, where I learned to draw on fabrics. I feel there is no opportunity of education for deaf and hard of hearing persons as no special accommodations were made to address my disability so learning was difficult (I learned what I could) so I did not understand what was being taught. Currently, I live with my
parents. I
work as teacher of English for deaf and hard of hearing youth in NGO. I
earn 40 dollar. Even though Armine does not have a degree in Art or Fashion Design it is easy to see her wonderful and unique style. Each drawing is highly detailed, colorful and not like anything else out there. It would be easy to see her drawings on the covers of or in books. Exciting new News! Armine was interviewed by a Journalist who found her on Disabled Artists Network and now Armine was featured on television in Armenia! She will also be featured in Famous French Artist Charles Aznavour's Photo's Armine absolutely adores Aznavour' and everything he does and says that it is Aznavour who inspires her to create some of her very best work Armine plans an exhibit soon in Yerevan so don't miss out! New News! Armine exhibits along with non disabled artists in Yereven and will soon her a solo exhibit so check back often to find out the details. Latest news is that Armine has sent three art works to Canada for the "Deaf Art Film Festival". Exhibit of Artworks" Armine draws not only art and fashion but creates drawings of psychological situations and feelings While many people tell her that her Art is good enough that she does not have to attend college or art school it is Armine's desire to be the very best she can be and that a formal education will enhance her goals, art career and independence. Doors have already opened and in just a very short time Armine has already been interviewed by a journalist, was featured on a local armenian radio station and was even on television and had an offer to sell her work in Ireland and the USA.
